Abstract
We present a highly simplified high-energy Herriott-type multipass cell (MPC) compression setup operated at ambient air at 400 µJ pulse energy. We compress 220 fs pulses to 27 fs at 40.3 W average power at 100 kHz, enhancing the peak power from 1.6 GW to 10.2 GW. Furthermore, we fully characterize spatio-temporal couplings and geometrical aberrations, using the INSIGHT device, revealing excellent spatio-temporal properties.
