A New Method of Unidirectional Mode Cleaning in Large Core Fibers Using a Non-Hermitian Helical Perturbation

Abstract

A large-core effectively single-mode fiber is proposed using mode cleaning by unidirectional coupling from higher-order to fundamental mode via helical non-Hermitian perturbation. Unidirectionality offers a pathway to a variety of novel large-core fiber devices.
