Fiber Source of Spectrally Uncorrelated Photon Pairs Based on Intermodal Four-Wave Mixing

Abstract

Using intermodal four-wave mixing (FWM) in an optical step-index fiber, we demonstrate a process capable of generating photon pairs with low spectral correlations without the need for optical filtering of the FWM sideband.
