Mid-infrared femtosecond pulse generation from a phase-modulated mode-locked cw optical parametric oscillator with dispersion control

Abstract

We describe a novel configuration of bulk χ(2) cw OPO based on MgO:PPLN generating near-transform-limited mid-infrared pulses of 96-fs duration with a broadband phase-locked spectrum by deploying an intracavity phase-modulator in combination with dispersion compensation.
