A standing-wave approach to mapping key photonic microwave resonances in aqueous spheroids

Abstract

We show that scalar standing-wave solutions accurately predict certain fundamental microwave Mie resonances in high-index aqueous oblate and prolate spheroids. We compare this simplified method with results obtained using multipole expansion and finite element methods.
