Simplified Pre-Distortion Technique for PAM4 Modulation based on a Micro-Ring Modulator

Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of digital pre-distortion (DPD) for micro-ring-modulator-based PAM4 modulation. With limited taps for practicality, the optimal de-sign of the DPD was shown to depend on the operating conditions of the modulator.
