Abstract
In this paper, we proposed a comprehensive optical waveguide theory including magneto-optical (MO) effect and magnetoelectrical (ME) effect. By using this theory, we analyzed an optical waveguide on which metamaterials and magnetic materials are arranged to control MO effect and ME effect independently. In addition, it was confirmed that the interaction between MO effect and ME effect appeared depending on the arrangement of metamaterials and the direction of magnetization, and it was shown that the nonreciprocity of the propagating light was greatly enhanced.
