Abstract
The perfectly matched layer (PML) method is widely used to truncate the open region when performing the computation of wave propagation. In this paper, based on minimizing both the average discrete reflectivity and the rounding error, some optimal parameters of the PML are obtained. Numerical simulations of wave propagation in the truncated region show that the propagation effect by our PML parameters is better than the other one by the parameters only from minimizing the average discrete reflectivity.
