Titanium Dioxide Waveguide Based Directional Coupler for Switching and Splitting in Datacom and Telecom Application

Abstract

We present efficient titanium dioxide-TiO2 directional coupler integrated with single mode waveguide as an effective solution for switching and splitting at 1550nm wavelength. The 100/0 and 50/50 directional coupler show efficiency of 96.65% and 98.58%, respectively, which is so far reported the highest with TiO2 based directional coupler.
