A new species of Tanytydeus (Acari: Paratydeidae) from termite nests in South Africa
Abstract
All active stages of a new species, Tanytydeus theroni sp. nov., are described from nests of the termite Trinervitermes trinervoides (Sjöstedt, 1911) (Isoptera: Termitidae) from South Africa. A key to Tanytydeus of the world is provided. The unusual morphological characters of the new species are discussed.
