Recurrent Brunneroma: A Rare Cause of Duodenal Obstruction

Abstract

Abstract Brunneroma, also known as Bruner’s gland adenoma or hamartoma, is a rare benign tumor of the duodenum. It is usually asymptomatic and sometimes presents with an upper gastrointestinal (UGI) bleed or obstruction. The majority of the cases are detected incidentally during endoscopy for UGI bleeding and may require endoscopic excision. Here, we attempt to highlight a case of recurrent large Brunneroma in a 52-year-old male and reassess the representative features that surgeons need to be aware of. We had to go for a major surgical intervention to relieve the duodenal obstruction.
