Abstract
ABSTRACT
Cognitive impairment in the pediatric age group may be associated with many different ideologies. A 6-year-old girl presented in this report had recurrent daily cognitive deficits lasting many hours and was subsequently found to have epileptiform abnormalities on electroencephalogram. She was started on valproic acid and showed dramatic improvement in her psychomotor activities. This report emphasizes that, in a child with episodic behavioral disturbance, seizures should be considered as an underlying cause.
