Abstract

ABSTRACT Sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) is the most common extragonadal germ cell tumor. Based on the external presentation, types I, II, III, and IV are described. Up to 70% of individuals with type IV SCT may experience a delay in diagnosis due to little evidence of an external tumor and the frequent occurrence of obstructive symptoms. We described a rare case of type IV SCT in a 2-year-old girl who primarily exhibited symptoms of urinary incontinence and constipation. She was eventually diagnosed and managed successfully with the complete excision of the tumor along with a colostomy and urinary diversion.
