Abstract
Case report of an 81-year-old patient who suffered an eye perforation during retrobulbar anesthesia before her cataract surgery. The patient presented with eye hypotony and had her surgery canceled. After the complementary examination and image exams, the hypothesis of globe perforation with retinal detachment was confirmed, and the patient underwent a posterior vitrectomy. The objective of this case report is to present the characteristic findings and management of this rare but well-known complication.
