Abstract
ABSTRACT
Actinomycosis is a rare infection caused by Actinomyces, which form club-shaped filaments arranged in a radiating pattern. The clinical manifestations are often nonspecific, so it makes a challenging situation for clinicians to get an accurate diagnosis. The histopathological study is usually helpful to confirm the diagnosis of actinomycosis. The patient often required clinical follow-up for complete healing of the lesion. Actinomycosis of the external auditory canal is extremely rare. There are only a few cases of actinomycosis diagnosed in the middle ear in the English literature, but there was no external auditory canal actinomycosis found. In this case report, we show an external auditory canal actinomycosis and discuss the treatment of this lesion.
