Abstract
Background:
In family planning for welfare, the number of children becomes an important factor. This relates to the use of contraceptives, including intrauterine devices (IUDs). The determinants of the use of this type of contraceptive are still unclear. The purpose of this study is to look into the various aspects of the use of IUDs.
Materials and Methods:
A cross-sectional observational study was done on the couples of reproductive age who were classified as IUD users or nonusers. Age, education level, knowledge level, income level, as well as social support, husband’s support, health support, and tool availability were all examined. The Chi-square test is used for the statistical analysis.
Results:
Age, education level, knowledge level, income level, as well as social support, husband’s support, and health support, as well as the availability of contraceptives with the use of IUDs, all had a significant association (P < 0.05).
Conclusions:
In conclusion, age, education level, knowledge level, income level, as well as social support, husband’s support, and health support, as well as the availability of tools, were found to be predictors in becoming an acceptor of contraceptives in family planning. As a result, it is advised that government efforts in family health be focused on strengthening these factors.
