Abstract
Abstract
Bhasma Pariksha, an integral aspect of Ayurvedic medicine, involves assessing metallic and mineral-based formulations known as “Bhasmas” (herbomineral or herbometallic compounds). Traditional methods for evaluating Bhasmas have relied on visual, organoleptic, and Ayurvedic parameters. However, in recent years, the integration of modern analytical techniques has revolutionized the quality control and standardization of Bhasma formulations. This review aims to provide an in-depth overview of the rationale behind utilizing modern analytical methods for Bhasma Pariksha, highlighting the advantages and limitations of various techniques.
