Lymphoma Masquerading as Thyroid Mass

Abstract

Abstract Lymphomas are divided into Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). NHL arises usually from lymph nodes, but can rarely involve extranodal sites. Primary thyroid lymphomas are very rare, accounting for 2% of thyroid malignancies. Usually, primary thyroid malignancies manifest as a rapidly enlarging neck mass with pressure symptoms and cervical lymphadenopathy. Early diagnosis is crucial as it could alter the course of treatment and improve the prognosis. Here, we depict a rare case of NHL presenting as a thyroid mass; which appeared as frank pus intraoperatively.
