3. ROEBUCK, JOHN, (1718–1794) was a physician and an industrialist and owned a sulphuric acid factory, an iron foundry and a salt-mine.
4. MÉTHERIE, JEAN CLAUDE DE LA, (1743–1817) was a physician and was Professor of Natural Science at the Collège de France in Paris.
5. TENNANT, SMITHSON, (1761–1816) was a physician but did not practise as he had a private income. Later (1781) he became Professor of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, and a member of the Royal Society.
