1. According to IUPAC rules, metal compounds containing a carbyne ligand are named “alkylidyne” complexes regardless of the nature of both the carbyne substituents and the metal fragment. See: F. R. KreiBl in “Transition Metal Carbyne Complexes”, Ed. Springer (1993). On considering that the term “aminocarbyne”, rather than “aminoalkylidyne”, is largely used in the literature, the former will be generally adopted in this review.
