Khim, 21(9), (1985) 1852 [C.A., 105, (1986) 190550m] report reactions of RFFe(CO)41/AgF or RFFe(CO)41/Hg(O2CCF3)2 with simple aromatics at 20–50 °C to give “moderate yields,” e.g. 16%, of perfluoroalkylated aromatic. Interestingly, (CF3CF2CF2)2Fe(CO)4 also F-propylated toluene at 110 °C in 21% yield.
