Abstract
European aerospace giant Airbus is studying a radical design for future hydrogen powered aircraft, which features six removable fuel cell propeller propulsion ‘pod’ systems that could enable a zero-emissions passenger aircraft to fly further than ever. The work, part of its ongoing ZEROe concept aircraft initiative, will also determine whether the pod configuration could be scaled up for large commercial aircraft.
