Preliminary results of DFT calculations show that the dissociation of cyclo-Si3H6 into three molecules of SiH2 is endothermic by ca. 116 kcal mol−1, while the dissociation of a Si3H6 · 3 NH3 complex into three molecules of the H2Si · NH3 complex is appreciably less endothermic (ca. 44 kcal mol−1).
