3. Melting points were taken on a Fisher-Jones hot stage and are corrected. Rotations were taken in chloroform solution. The infrared spectra were recorded from a pressed potassium bromide pellet on a Beckman IR 7 Spectrophotometer. All chromatographic separations were done with silica gel Davison Type 923, 100–200 mesh. The ultraviolet absorption spectra were taken, unless noted otherwise, in methanol solutions on a Cary 14. spectrophotometer. Analyses were carried out by Schwarzkopf Microanalytical Laboratory, Woodside 77, N.Y.
