The goal of this review is to thoroughly examine the effects of maternal obesity on the course of pregnancy and the ensuing long-term health implications for both the mother and the unborn child. This review attempts to shed light on the complex impacts of obesity during pregnancy, including increased risks of gestational diabetes, hypertension, and other problems, by synthesizing the information that has already been published. This study, which makes use of a literature review methodology, looks at data from several research papers to explain the possible effects of maternal obesity on the health of her offspring, including the higher risk of obesity and metabolic diseases later in life.
