Abstract
The energy transition requires investment in sustainable energy infrastructure worldwide in the coming decades. On a generic level, renewable energy projects are capital-intensive and require higher upfront investments. The study evaluates the activities in the energy sector of the leading multilateral organizations, focusing on analyzing the financial flow and the main implemented projects. The analysis includes a comprehensive report on the energy sector and an updated data set on the primary beneficiaries of funding from multilateral organizations. It is based on the latest key economic indicators, supply and demand factors, energy market trends, and an analysis of the evolution of this sector. An essential part of the study focuses on analyzing the evolution of energy consumption at the national level and separately from the main energy-consuming sectors. Energy balance data are analyzed to get detailed information about the main changes in energy consumption, the current situation, dynamics, challenges, and prospects.
