Abstract
The energy per particle and magnetic susceptibility in neutron matter are calculated using the Skyrme and modified Skyrme interactions. Results show a kind of ferromagnetic transition beyond the Fermi momentum kn - 1 �0 fm-I. It is concluded that such behaviour is a general phenomenon instead of a result due to the choice of a given effective interaction
