Abstract
Nucleophilic displacement
of chloride or bromide from 2-halo-1,4-naphthoquinones has afforded easy
synthesis of 2-fluoronaphthoquinones. The procedure involved mild treatment
with unsolvated fluoride generated by crown polyether
complexation of potassium fluoride in acetonitrile.
