Abstract
Extraction of the aerial parts of Ophiorrhiza bracteata
Bl. (Rubiaceae) has yielded the known quaternary indole alkaloid ophiorrhizine
(1) and the new glucoindole alkaloid bracteatine (2), the structure of which
followed from its spectroscopic properties.
