Abstract
The shell model interaction parameters of Cohen and Kurath are modified in order to give better agreement with experiment for the electromagnetic transition matrix elements and energies of the low-lying levels of lOB. The predicted quadrupole moment of the first excited state of lOB is about -0?8efm2
