Abstract
Callitrin (1) at 220�
partly isomerizes to epicallitrin (9). This result, together with those of the
Cope rearrangements of some other sesquiterpenoids, is explained in terms of
the accessibility of suitable transition states and the relative stabilities of
the possible products.
