Abstract

The total synthesis of the depsidones, notatic acid (1?-carboxy-2?- hydroxy-4-methoxy-3,6,6?-trimethyl-depsidone) and 4-O- methylhypoprotocetraric acid (1?-carboxy-2?-hydroxy-4-methoxy- 3,3?,6,6?-tetramethyldepsidone) is reported.
