Abstract
Monolayers of varying stability are formed
by a series of alcohols, carboxylic acids, and other derivatives containing an
anthracene nucleus. Surface pressure-area curves have been obtained for the
more stable films. The limiting areas and other properties of the films are
discussed with reference to the molecular configurations of the compounds.
