Abstract
A series of stable
1,4,2-oxathiazolidines (11)-(22) have been prepared by the cycloaddition of the
aliphatic thioketones (4)-(6) to the aldonitrones (1), (7)-(10). Thermolysis of
the adducts led to their dissociation but the mode of photochemical decomposition
of some of these adducts was found to be consistent with the possible formation
of intermediate thiaziridines.
