Abstract
Leaves and stems of Mackinlaya subulata Philipson and M. macrosciadia (F. Muell.) F. Muell.
(fam. Araliaceae) contain
two new alkaloids, 6,7,8,9-tetra-hydropyrido[2,1-b]quinazolin-11-one (I), and
6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-llH-pyrido[2,1-b]- quinazoline (11), and the known alkaloid anabasine. The new Mackinlaya
alkaloids had previously been prepared by synthesis1-3.
