Studies with Bicyclo[2,2,2]octenes. VIII. Synthesis of the Tricyclo[5,2,2,01,5]-undecane skeleton related to eremolactone

Abstract

Synthesis of 8,8-dimethyltricyclo[5,2,2,01,5]undecane-4,9-dione (3) has afforded the novel ring system which forms the central nucleus of the diterpene eremolactone.
