Abstract
Two new furanosesquiterpenes,
7-methyl-7-(4'-methylpenta-1',3'-dienyl)- 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzofuran and
4-hydroxydendrolasin [(S,E)-9-(furan- 3'-yl)-2,6-dimethylnona-2,6-dien-4-ol],
are described. The structure of the former compound was confirmed by synthesis
from dihydrophymaspermone and the structure and
stereochemistry of 4- hydroxydendrolasin were
established by synthesis from eremoacetal.
