Abstract
A series of simulated rabbit poisoning trials was camed out to assess the acceptance of carrot, pellet
(extruded pollard and bran) and oat baits by non-target species. The results showed that a high
percentage of those non-target mammals exposed to the baits ingested at least one of the bait types.
Carrot bait proved to be the most target-specific. The actual location of the bait material was often
more important than bait type in determining uptake.
