Abstract
Lithium aluminium hydride
reduction of 1,1-diphenylbut-2-yn-1-ol in diethyl or diisopropyl ether gave
1,1-diphenylbuta-1,2-diene (4) and the (Z)- and (E)-1,1-diphenylbut-2-en-1-ols
(5) and (6), but reaction in tetrahydrofuran solution gave only the (E)-alkenol
(6).
