Abstract
The macrocyclic nickel(II) complexes (9)-(11) have been prepared by metal template methods from the dialdehydes (7), which in turn have been derived from the bis-isatins (4). Complexes (9)-(11) have undergone oxidative dehydrogenation to the complexes (12)-(14). The effect of various substituents is discussed.
