Abstract
Matrix-isolation spectroscopy is particularly useful for the study of transient species and molecular ions. New methods for producing and trapping reactive molecules for spectroscopic characterization are described. Matrix investigations of charge-transfer anionic species, free radicals, positive ions, and van der Waals molecules are discussed.
