Abstract
A unit is described for studying cathodoluminescent emission from phosphor powders and small single crystals. Measurements of spectra, rise and decay times, luminance, and power efficiencies as a function of sample temperature are possible. Details of the vacuum system, gun assembly, and electronics are discussed. Some representative data showing system performance are presented.
