Abstract

The article deals with intercultural terms: education, competence, principles and communication as a means of combating discrimination and intolerance. It points to the need to adapt the education system to the contemporary trends of the society. The role of teachers is increasingly important, because in addition to applicable knowledge, the skills and abilities of students must be trained to respect the richness of different cultures. By implementing intercultural education in the school system, teaching tasks focus on respect, appreciation and importance of recognizing differences in all aspects of life.
