Abstract

In the article that follows we examine a social role of film. Previously analyzing the concepts of narrative, identity and melting pot, we try to prove three theses. First, the lack of togetherness as a fundamental problem of immigrant societies can be overcome by the idea of a common future. Secondly, the idea of a common future (upcoming togetherness) can be the basis of identification in the present. And thirdly, science and fantasy movies can provides a high level of the bridging social capital and social integration and cohesion, and on that way becomes very effective instrument of Melting pot strategy.
