Abstract

Qualified migration from Germany to Turkey, which took place in the early 2000s, was one of the goals Turkey aimed at when sending the first workers to Germany forty years ago. However, only after forty years, this expectation has come true, and a very serious number of qualified migrants have remigrated to Turkey. Although the issue of why these qualified immigrants come to Turkey from Germany has been investigated by many studies, the socioeconomic problems they face when they come to Turkey have not yet been the subject of sufficient research. But, shed light on the process experienced by these qualified immigrants, who can play very important roles in terms of socioeconomic development of Turkey, is as important as investigating the reasons behind their returnmigration from Germany for Turkey. For this reason, with this study, it is aimed to determine what kind of socio-economic problems these second and third generation Turkish or Turkish origin German immigrants who come to Turkey face and how effective these problems are in their decision to return to Germany.
