Abstract
This review delves into relatively less discussed role ofalkaline phosphatase (ALP) as an accessible alternative tointact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) in the context of bonehealth assessment, particularly focussing on its potentialboon for underprivileged individuals with chronic kidneydisease (CKD) in South Asia. The financial constraints facedby this demographic often hinder regular monitoring ofiPTH levels. ALP emerges as a promising surrogate, offeringa cost-effective and practical solution for bone healthevaluation in resource-constrained settings. Keywords: PTH, Intact Parathormone, AlkalinePhosphatase, ALP, Chronic Kidney Disease, Bone Health
