Measures taken in health institutions for safety and security of the worker in the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

In December 2019, the first cases of Covid-19 were recorded, a disease caused by a new virus (coronavirus) that affected people worldwide, triggering a pandemic. The world health organization (WHO) defines health not only as the absence of disease in the human body, but as a state of perfect physical, mental and social well-being. In view of this, the objective of this research is to identify, in the health area, the security measures that have been adopted in health institutions and workers to face Covid-19. To achieve the proposed objective, the design of this research is characterized by a qualitative approach, of an exploratory nature, in which data from the Final Report were investigated. Protected workers and workers save lives, this data is from health professionals who worked on the front lines in the fight against the pandemic. The results show that in relation to the sample's profile, it can be highlighted that 2,713 are women, 3,056 of the male and female workers work in the health area. It is concluded that there was an insufficient distribution of PPE equipment, causing psychological suffering, insecurities and contamination.
