Abstract

This study aims to deepen the understanding of the environmental dimensions of solar energy, providing valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders committed to the transition to a sustainable energy future. By exploring sustainability paradigms in photovoltaic energy generation, the work contributes to an intellectual and practical journey towards a more promising and ecologically conscious future, especially in the face of the critical crossroads regarding environmental impact. Through a literature review using keywords such as photovoltaic energy, sustainability, sustainable development, clean energy, environmental impact, and technological innovations, the study examines the environmental sustainability paradigms in solar energy generation in Brazil. It emphasizes solar energy as a clean and renewable source capable of significantly reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. The study addresses challenges in the production of materials and industrial processes associated with solar panels, highlighting the need for sustainable approaches. It concludes that environmental paradigms reflect different perspectives on reconciling renewable sources and environmental protection, overcoming challenges such as cost, efficiency, and environmental impact. The study underscores the importance of appropriate site selection and sustainable management practices to minimize negative impacts in the implementation of solar plants.
