Abstract

Resilience is an essential psychological trait for rescuers, as their work involves responding to emergencies and disasters in challenging and often dangerous environments. In the case of rescuers, resilience enables them to remain calm and focused under pressure, cope with the physical and emotional demands of their job, and recover from the traumatic experiences they may encounter in the course of their work. Rescuers often face a range of stressful and challenging situations, such as working in confined spaces, dealing with hazardous materials, and navigating complex rescue scenarios and may also be exposed to traumatic events. In these situations, resilience can help rescuers to maintain their composure, remain focused on their task, and make effective decisions. Overall, the resilience of rescuers is a critical factor in their ability to perform their jobs safely and effectively, and to cope with the physical and emotional demands of their work. By developing resilience and receiving support as needed, rescuers can continue to provide lifesaving services in the challenging and often hazardous environment of a mine. The current paper aims to underline the importance of resilience and to provide strategies to enhance it in the case of intervention and rescue personnel.
