Current status and development prospects of psychological and pedagogical assistance in Pediatrics

Abstract

The article presents the history of the formation of psychological and pedagogical assistance as one of the directions of habilitation of children with disabilities, the stages of its development in Russia, and the current state of the industry. There are clued main concepts, purpose, tasks, and content of psychological and pedagogical activity in the process of restoring children’s health. The priorities of this work are indicated to be as follows: psychological-pedagogical diagnostics; counselling for children and parents (or legal representatives), medical and pedagogical workers; and correctional-developing work with children and parents for successful social adaptation of each who find themselves in difficult life situations; vocational guidance chronically ill adolescents and support during the period of vocational training and integrate into society. There is described the contribution of scientists of the National Medical Research Center for Children’s Health into Russian scientific and methodological support of psychological and pedagogical assistance in Pediatrics.
